1. When did George W. Bush first take office as the 43rd president of the United States?
*January 20, 2001
2. What are some of the things that President Bush is proud of as he leaves office, as mentioned in the report? What do you think are some of the things that he might be disappointed about?
* He is proud of the way his advisors did their job.
* I my opinion everything he did was a disappointment.
3. How do you think that history will remember George W. Bush's presidency? Explain.
* History will remember Bush as the worst president because of all the bad things he did.
4. According to the report: Why were some students in Steamboat Springs, Colorado denied hot lunches when they returned to school after the holiday break? Overall, how much money was owed to the school district for lunches?
* Some students were denied hot lunches because there were unpaid accounts.
* There was over 10,000 dollars owed to the district
5. What steps did the school district take to try to collect this debt? Did the strategy work? Explain.
* They connected the kid’s parents so they could pay, and when they didn’t pay they cut the kids off.
*Yes the strategy did work because they got 80% back.
6. Why were some parents, like the one featured in the report, upset about the school district's action? In your opinion, is this parent justified in her opinion, or did the school district do the right thing? Explain.
* The parents are upset because their kids had to go the whole day with lunch. I think the district did the right thing because they warned the parents
7. What job is Australia's tourism industry billing as "the best job in the world"? What are some of the duties of this job? How much does it pay?
* Australia is saying that the best job in the world is working at the Great Barrier Reef. Some of the duties is watching whales, feeding the turtles and maybe clean the pool. Plus you have to write a weekly report of your experience there.
* Around 100,000 dollars American
8. According to the segment, what has the response been to this job posting? Why do you think that so many people are interested in the job?
* Some of the response to this job is everyone loves it and they want to work there.
* So many people are interested in this job because of how easy it is and how much you get paid for doing nothing.
9. Why do you think that Tourism Queensland is offering this job? Do you think that this is an effective way to boost tourism? Why or why not?
* They probably need more people.
* I think it’s a good way to boost tourism because American’s would probably think about working there and if they do, then their family might come.
10. Describe your idea of "the best job in the world." If you were to write a posting or an ad for this job, what might it say?
* I think that’s the best job. I would write what they wrote, the best job in the world.
